Terms of Service

Convertopia (the “Service”) is operated by Andrei Sidorenko, an individual trading as HexaDev (“we”, “us”, “our”).

HexaDev is a trading name, not a separately registered legal entity. The party responsible for the Service is Andrei Sidorenko personally.

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Convertopia converts uploaded files between supported formats. The list of supported conversions is published on the site and may change as tools are added or removed.

We describe what each conversion does as accurately as we can, but we do not guarantee that a given file will convert successfully or that output will match your expectations. File formats vary widely and some inputs cannot be converted faithfully.

• You must provide a valid email address and keep your account details accurate.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
• Accounts are personal. Do not share credentials or resell access.
• You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.

Paid plans are sold through Gumroad, Inc., which acts as the merchant of record.

This means that when you purchase a paid plan, the sales contract for that transaction is between you and Gumroad, not between you and us. Gumroad processes the payment, issues the receipt, and collects and remits any applicable VAT, GST or sales tax.

We never receive or store your card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you selected until you cancel. Prices displayed may have tax added at checkout depending on your location. Gumroad’s terms apply to the transaction alongside these Terms.

Each plan has a maximum period for which converted files remain available for download:

File size is limited both by your plan and by the tool that performs the conversion; the smaller of the two applies. On the Max plan:

These are properties of the conversion software, not of your plan, so a paid plan does not raise the ones it already meets. Each conversion page states the exact figure for that pair of formats.

Retention is a maximum, not a guarantee. Download your files promptly. After the retention period, files are deleted automatically from our storage and this deletion is permanent and irreversible. We cannot recover deleted files.

You may not use the Service to:

• upload, convert or distribute content that is illegal where you are or where we operate;
• process content you do not own or have permission to use;
• upload malware or content designed to compromise systems;
• circumvent quotas, rate limits or plan restrictions, including by manipulating request headers;
• resell or white-label the Service without a written agreement with us;
• automate access outside the documented API.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, without refund.

API keys are personal and must be kept secret. Treat a key like a password. Requests are subject to rate limits and plan quotas. We may revoke a key that is being abused, shared publicly, or used in a way that threatens the stability of the Service.

You keep all ownership of the files you upload and of the converted output.

You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit those files solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your files to train machine learning models, and we do not access their contents except where necessary to operate or debug the Service, or where we are legally required to.

We aim to keep the Service running but do not offer a guaranteed uptime level. The Service may be unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons outside our control. Features may change or be removed.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for lost files, lost profits, lost business, or indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, this section does not affect your mandatory statutory rights.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. If we discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable notice and refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.

We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify you by email or a notice on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the change.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
